When do you need to know your Host ID?
There are two cases where you will be asked for the host ID that is used to license your application:
- When obtaining a license for the first time, you need to identify the host ID of the computer to which the license will be secured.
- Local computer
- Remote license server
- After installation, when registering for the Knowledge Center or when contacting EEsof Technical Support , provide the host ID to which the EEsof product license file was issued as a way to identify your supported status.

Register for Knowledge Center - How To Find Your Existing License Server's Host ID
To register in Knowledge Center you need to enter the Host ID of your license server as it is associated with your company's support contract. Below you will find specific information about where and how to find the license server Host ID used to secure your licenses as well as common errors to avoid when using it to register for an account with the Knowledge Center.
Important Note!
The examples in this document use fictitious Host IDs. None of the Host IDs in this document are your license server Host ID and they will not grant supported user access to Knowledge Center.

Where Can I Find the License Server's Host ID after the application is already installed?
There are four common ways to find your license server's Host ID.

Example Host IDs
CPU ID
CPU IDs are 8-digit hexadecimal strings that look something like this: A123B456
NOTE
Remove any spaces or dashes from the CPU ID string when entering it into the Host ID field of the Knowledge Center registration form.
MAC Address
A MAC address is a 12 character hexadecimal string. For example: 123456ABCDEF
NOTE
Remove any spaces or dashes from the MAC address when entering it into the Host ID field of the Knowledge Center registration form.
Hardware Key FlexNet ID
The FlexNet ID on your hardware key. Hardware key FlexNet IDs start with "9-" or "10-". For example: 9-0123ABCD or 10-0123ABCD
NOTE
Do not include 'FLEXID=' with your hardware key FlexNet ID. For example, if your license file contains "FLEXID=9-0123ABCD", you only want to enter the '9-0123ABCD' and omit the 'FLEXID='.

University Students and Instructors
If you are registering as part of a university, please contact the professor or system administrator responsible for setting up the Keysight EEsof EDA software license and ask for the Host ID of the license server. Refer to the instructions given in this document for locating the Host ID.
