Advanced Design System 2023 Update 1.2

ADS 2023 Update 1.2 (minor update release) is a cumulative minor update release installed on ADS 2023 Update 1.0 (base release). You can upgrade your existing ADS installation (ADS 2023 Update 1.0) to ADS 2023 Update 1.2 without uninstalling any previous minor updates (if available any).

This release includes fixed issues in the EM Simulation & HSD areas.

EM Simulation

RFPro

• FEM direct ports are automatically converted to SMD port calibration. A bug in the Port Editor has been fixed that unintentionally changed the 'Direct' Feed Type into 'SMD'.
• An RFPro issue preventing remote jobs to be run when using Suse12 SP5 has been fixed.

FEM

• 7 Simulation Failure in EM-Cosim area only on SUSE12. A bug has been fixed that caused EM simulation failures on SLES 12 server SP5.

HSD

General

• CA signal has the wrong data rate when the CK signal is present. Addressed the issue of wrong bit rate setup for Address signals when CK is also enabled.
• Remove dependency on EEsofCore in model codes of AMI Model Builder. Addressed the issue of AMI model dependencies to ADS libraries.
• PAM3 AMI model with PAM_Threshold will cause a simulation error. Addressed the issue with PAM3 simulations.
• IBIS model name in batch simulation starts to fail since ADS2023 Update 1. Addressed the issue of batch sim for the cases with IBIS model sweep

EM - PIPro

• EMPI PIPro AC Analysis Fails to Plot Current Density when a Sink Package Model is used. PI AC analyses that used a Sink with the Package Model in ADS 2023 Update 1.0 could not display the current density because the package model was not correctly included. This is solved in ADS 2023 Update 1.2. A workaround in ADS 2023 Update 1.

Feature Updates

This release includes feature updates in the EM Simulation area. 

EM Simulation

RFPro

• The ADS substrate editor option "Only pins and pin shapes in layer" is now supported in RFPro.

Top Fixed Issues

This release includes fixed issues in the Design & Tech Management, Circuit Simulation, EM Simulation, HSD, and Data Display areas. 

Design & Tech Management

General

• Fixed Folder View sorting for files with the same name.

• Fixed crash when copying objects on a page when the clipboard contains objects from a closed window.

Circuit Simulation

General

• Fixed a crash related to large circuits and stability analysis.

• The slowdown of the ADSHBT transistor model during transient simulation has been fixed.

Verilog-A

• This can be used to make models disable self-heating when electrothermal is used.

EM Simulation

Momentum

• An issue has been fixed that could cause an RFPro-Momentum simulation to fail when Mesh Domain Optimization is turned on.

• An issue in the LTD substrate editor has been fixed that prohibited importing an ITF file.

RFPro

• An issue has been fixed that incorrectly flagged a project as modified when re-running an analysis.

• A 'Failed to Launch Simulation' error has been fixed when using the Run command through the context menu.

• A bug got fixed that prohibited to view the mesh after rerunning an FEM simulation.

HSD

EM - SIPro/PIPro

• Sitecluster setups with alpha, beta, and omega configurations for FEM used the wrong submit option (omega) for the parallel sub-jobs when a non-FEM simulation was submitted from the "Site Cluster Queue" in the xxPro GUI. (This was not a problem for simulations using a simulation service.)
  The fix makes sure the alpha configurations are selected for these simulator sub-jobs.

Data Display

General

• Fixed unique automatic equation names for new and copied equations when the original name already contains a number.
